One more in the group

Hey All!

I'm not sure if I'm going to post my weight on here or not, let's just say I'm about 30 pounds over my "ideal weight". I'm all right with that because earlier in the summer I bought new shorts that actually fit - meaning, I don't have to suck my stomach into my lungs to get them on! ;-) However, now I'm at a crossroads, with the weight I've put on since last fall, I have to either drop the weight to fit into my winter clothes or layout some cash for a new winter wardrobe. I'm thinking about going the route that Eliza is going, smaller portion sizes and exercise 'cause diets suck!

Just thought I'd share a little here. We (my kids, Karina and Ryan, and my in-laws) went camping at Letchworth State Park for a couple of days. We did some hiking, maybe 3 miles per day. You can view the trails and pictures by following the links below:

Yesterday, my 11-year-old son wanted to go on a bike ride. We went just over 10 miles in an hour, not as fast as I normally go, but he enjoyed it. We finished the ride off with ice cream at Cold Stone Creamery! ;-)

Mmmmm Mmmmm Good

Hey Everybody!

So, up til yesterday I was doing pretty well (with eating anyway). But, yesterday was totally worth it.

The kids' and I went to Phil and Michelle's yesterday after we dropped off our dog to get neutered (poor puppy). Our intention was to stay only til after lunch then go get our dog. Instead we were invited to dinner (Thanks Guys!). So, here's what happened.

The kids played outside then inside while Michelle and I talked.
Michelle and I snacked on carrots (I avoided the Ranch for the most part) while talking.
The kids played some more and Phil went out to get cold cuts (Michelle and I still talking).
The kids played some more while we talked.
We had lunch, sandwiches with fresh tomatoes from Phil and Michelle's garden (really good!) and our mouths were too full to talk.
The kids played inside, Michelle and I talked.
The kids played in the pool while Phil brushed (totally gross how much hair there was) and washed their dog Aspen all while we all talked.
The kids played inside while Michelle and I talked.
Phil started making dinner, Brandy and I went to go get the puppy and the rest of the kids stayed and played.
We came back with the puppy (Phil almost done with dinner), Michelle and I (and a little bit of Phil) talked while the kids played.
Dinner was done. The kids picked up, the adults set the table and we ate. The kids had perogies that Michelle made. The adults....craw fish pie on a bed of baby spinach and arugula, wow mouth watering good!
The kids played and the adults talked while cleaning.
Then, for the acu de gra, peach cobbler with blueberries. (YUMMMMM!) I think Phil was purposely trying to make Michelle and I gain all our weight back :P It was totally worth it.
Then the kids played outside while Michelle and I talked and Phil watched the Yankees game.
The kids played outside while Michelle and I pulled Phil away from the t.v. to play a game.
Then it was 9pm, we had spent 11 hours at Phil and Michelle's, and it was time to go.

SO, Food, Fun, and Games. A pretty good day if I say so myself (and I do).

Hope all of you kept on track while Michelle and I veered to the left. But, its back to eating right and exercising today. Back to being a better role model.

See you next time!
